Why Octo exists

Anyone who has lived on the island for a season knows the routine. The boiler stops in November and the plumber your neighbour recommended is fully booked, off the island, or simply never calls back. In summer, every reliable electrician, cleaner and driver is working flat out, and the ones with free time are the ones nobody vouches for. Word of mouth works until it doesn't, and the WhatsApp groups are full of names with no way to tell who is serious.

Octo was built for exactly that moment. We wanted a single place where a resident, a second-home owner or a business in Ibiza could describe a need once and have it reach the right local professionals, verified and available, without chasing anyone.

How it works

1. Describe your project. Start with your postal code, then a short guided form, about two minutes, asks the questions a professional would ask you on the phone. You receive an instant indicative estimate, calculated from Octo's reference prices for that type of work.
2. Choose who to invite. We show you the verified professionals who offer that service and work in your area, and you invite the ones you like, up to 10. Other verified professionals of your area can see your project, without your contact details, and show interest in it: you accept or decline.
3. Decide who gets your details. Your name, email and phone go only to the professionals you invited or whose interest you accepted. You then talk in the Octo chat, receive their quotes and hire one of them, or none. You agree on the date directly with the professional and pay them at the agreed price.

Posting a request, receiving the estimate and hearing from professionals is free for clients.

How we verify professionals

Every professional on Octo goes through the same checks before they can show interest in a single request: identity documents, business registration and insurance, then a review of the file by someone from our team, who approves it by hand. There is no automatic approval. In the list of professionals we show you, those who pay for Premium come first and are always labelled "Featured"; the others are ordered by their reviews, their distance from you and a fair rotation. What Octo is, and what it isn't

Octo is operated by OCTO SERVICES IBIZA SL and acts as an intermediary between clients and independent professionals. We are not a contractor: we do not carry out the work, and we never handle the payment for the service. You pay the professional directly at the price you agreed. Our role is to make the meeting go well: verified people, clear information before anyone gets your details, a written record of the conversation, and moderated reviews afterwards.

Professionals pay Octo a fee each time they are put in touch with a client, sized on the estimated value of the project, and some choose a Premium subscription to appear first. Octo takes no commission on the work. That is how Octo is funded, and it is why the service stays free for clients. Details are on Octo for professionals.

Where we operate

Octo is live across Ibiza. Each professional sets the area they cover around their base, so the professionals you hear from genuinely work where you are. Mallorca and Valencia are coming soon. Our sectors: home and maintenance, renovation and construction, wellness, events, transportation and digital services. Local businesses such as hotels, villas, restaurants and shops can also use Octo Business, a subscription with a curated network and direct requests.

Our commitments

• Free for clients. No fee to post, to receive an estimate or to hear from professionals.
• Verified professionals. Documents checked, and a manual approval for every single one.
• You stay in control. You choose who to invite and whose interest to accept. Nobody receives your contact details without your say-so, and your request page lists everyone who did.
• Moderated reviews. Only clients who hired a professional through Octo can review them, once the job is done, and professionals can reply publicly.
• Your privacy. Professionals see your project without your contact details. Data is hosted in the EU under GDPR. See our privacy policy.
