This Cookie Policy explains how Octo Services uses cookies and similar technologies on https://octo.services. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. Octo Services is an intermediary marketplace that connects consumers ("clients") with professional service providers; it never processes the payment for the service between them.
1. Who is responsible
The entity responsible for this website is:
- Name: {{COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME}} ({{COMPANY_LEGAL_FORM}})
- Tax ID (NIF): {{COMPANY_NIF}}
- Registered address: {{REGISTERED_ADDRESS}}
- Cookie / privacy queries: {{PRIVACY_EMAIL}}
2. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences — such as staying signed in or keeping your chosen language — over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them each time you return or move between pages. Similar technologies (local storage, tokens) may be used for the same purposes; where we refer to "cookies" we mean these too.
Cookies can be classified by duration — session cookies are deleted when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain for a set period — and by purpose — strictly necessary (technical) cookies that the site cannot work without, versus analytics, personalisation and marketing cookies that are optional.
3. Cookies Octo uses today
Today Octo Services sets only strictly necessary (essential) cookies. We do not currently use any analytics, advertising, profiling or third-party tracking cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie (authentication) | Keeps you securely signed in and maintains your session while you use your client, provider or admin space. Set by our authentication layer. | Strictly necessary — first party | Session / until you log out or the session expires |
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers your chosen interface language (EN / ES / FR) so pages display in the right language. | Strictly necessary — first party | Persistent (up to ~12 months) |
These cookies are essential to provide a service you have expressly requested (signing in and displaying the site). They do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising.
4. Why no cookie banner is shown
Under Article 22.2 of the Spanish Law on Information Society Services (LSSI-CE) and Article 5(3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive, prior consent is not required for cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver a service the user has expressly requested. Because Octo currently uses only such essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is displayed. We still inform you about them here, in line with transparency obligations under the GDPR (RGPD) and the guidance of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
5. If we add analytics or marketing cookies
We are committed to the following: before introducing any analytics, statistics, personalisation, advertising or other non-essential cookie — whether first-party or from a third party — we will implement a prior opt-in consent banner. Non-essential cookies will be blocked by default and set only after you give free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent, with an equally easy way to refuse or withdraw it at any time. Your choice will be recorded, and this policy will be updated (with a new effective date) to list each new cookie, its provider, purpose and duration before it goes live.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can view, block or delete cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and others each provide these controls in their privacy menus). Please note that blocking the strictly necessary cookies above may prevent you from signing in or cause the site to display in the wrong language, as they are required for core functionality.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in the law. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at {{PRIVACY_EMAIL}}. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the AEPD (www.aepd.es).
